2020 TCG and Sports Cards a Retrospective Pikachu Promo

As a restrospective of 2020 I selected a fitting collectible card. One that I had my eyes on when they first started appearing and my appreciation of Edvard Munch, which I got to see in person at a museum. The card is the 2018 Pikachu Munch: A Retrospective. A Japanese promo Pokemon card from a promo in conjunction with a Tokyo museum.

Note the prices bid for this card in early 2020.

Still can't believe your eyes? Accept that you just saw a jump from $125 to $2175 in a 12 month period. According to PSA data, Pokemon card sellers everywhere have taken in bigger gains this year than it has in over a decade combined. Those little Pokemon cards are all grown up and commanding adult prices. Even adults who were never aware that Pokemon cards were a thing are learning about them and how Pokemon can evolve and as a trainer which ones to have, and how they correlate to price. The magic is gone. What are kids to do now?
